Couples Meditation for Calm and Balance

Sit with your partner and ask if he/she/they would be willing to read to you a meditation for calm. Reading with your partner in a calm voice and with positive intention and commitment to peace sets in the mood for support and collaboration. A form of communication that says I care about you and your state of mind. I support positive thoughts for you and our relationship.

Ask if they would like for you to read it to them as well.
Read slowly, lovingly, and patiently.

Sit facing each other and play some soft, meditative music.

Begin by envisioning your feet being rooted into the earth.
Your legs are like tree trunks that connect deeply with the earth below.

Envision your legs grounded. Your feet are grounded. Your body is grounded.

Your alignment is straight.
Balanced equally on both sides.

You are balanced and calm.

Take a moment to listen to the voices in your mind.

Allow each thought to pass through you.

Don’t react to any of the thoughts.
Just let them bounce in and out.

These thoughts don’t have to take you anywhere.
They can simply come and go.

Let these thoughts come and go.

As you listen to these voices in your mind.
Allow yourself to feel the feelings they ignite.

Allow these thoughts and feelings to flow through your body.
Out into the ground.

Envision any fearful thoughts flowing through you,
Releasing them.
Asking mother earth to recycle them.

Each thought can quickly pass through you.
No thought sways you.

You allow them to come and go.
You are grounded and balanced.

Breathing in the feeling of serenity.
Breathing out a commitment to peace.

Breathing in balance.
Breath out joy.

Breathe in calm.
Breathe out faith.

Replacing any negative thoughts with a new affirmation.

I am calm
I am balanced
I am serene.

I am calm
I am balanced
I am serene.

I am calm
I am balanced
I am serene.

Repeating your affirmation.

I am calm.
I am balanced.
I am serene.
